Global Warming And The Dangers From The Increased Temperature

Quite a few locations have already begun to see the impact global warming has on the Earth. Among some of the places that have had the experience of dealing with the effects of global warming first hand are Las Vegas and Phoenix. For about one full week both of these locations had temperatures that were a minimum of 110? F during 2007. When this occurred it was the first time in history that temperatures reached and maintained such high levels in these areas.

The water vapor, methane gasses and carbon dioxide have together impacted in a negative way the Earth as we once it knew it. They are all much more common in our atmosphere. For the most part, according to some people, the majority is caused by pollution from around the globe. From factories, vehicles and greenhouses. All of this pollution may be causing the humidity and temperatures to reach extremely elevated levels, that is anything but the norm for the locations. However others believe that it is not man that is causing the Carbon Dioxide increases at all. They believe that the rise in temperature is what causes Carbon Dioxide to increase.

It is estimated that our normal temperatures are going to increase drastically by the year 2100. Among these estimates are an increase of around 11? F across the world. Although this might seem to be too drastic of a change, if you really think about it, it is realistic. Over a short period of time the pollution has already begun to destroy the ozone layer. If there is no change in the way we live and care for our Earth, this seems inevitable to some alarmists.

The polar ice caps are also being effected by the global warming. They are melting and forcing the sea levels to rise ever so slightly. This also causes other locations to live in fear. They now have to build their homes on either high standing boards and hope for the best or they have to move to higher lands to avoid the inevitable.

As these ice caps begin to melt and continue to melt the Earth is unable to cool itself off. This causes the earth to over heat or as we often refer to it as global warming. There are serious weather related concerns when the earth is unable to cool down to the appropriate temperatures. Tropical storms will become a regular thing only with more intensity, and the more intense they are the more likely they will cause fatalities in the course of destruction.

Global warming poses a threat to society as we know it. Our lives will forever be changed if we do not take action and try to repair what we have already destroyed. Our families, homes and lives are in jeopardy. You might think that you are safe from the effects of global warming because you do not live near the oceans, seas, Las Vegas or Phoenix however, everyone everywhere is going to feel the impact fairly soon.
